Being a bit overweight, I decided that I needed to do something about it. I decided to try Slim Fast.
I bought several flavors of premixed shakes to start and cut out all sugary drinks from my diet. I would drink a shake for breakfast when I woke up. For a snack between breakfast and lunch I would have an apple, banana, pear, or other small fruit. Lunch would consist of another shake. Another fruit for a snack between lunch and dinner. Dinner I would enjoy a salad and a small portion of a healthy dinner, such as a half chicken breast and a cup of rice and steamed veggies.
I have been on this diet for about a month and have lost about 10 pounds just by changing my diet and walking for about 20 minutes a day. I have been very pleased with my results!
The slim fast diet allows some flexibility with snacks and meal planning. They also make meal and snack bars for those not satisfied with shakes alone. They also have powdered mixes that you can make at home instead of buying the pre-mixed shakes.
Since I do not enjoy chocolate, most of the shakes I have been purchasing have been in the strawberry or vanilla flavors. Contrary to what I have heard, these shakes are very tasty! In order to be successful with this (or any weight loss diet), you have to stay within the parameters of the diet and be sure to exercise!
I recently purchased the powdered mixes along with some meal bars to give me more options when choosing what to consume for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The variety will help me stay on track with my weight loss goals.
I believe that Slim Fast is affordable and works when followed properly. I intend on continuing with this diet for a few more weeks and hope to lose about 10 more pounds.
